MSC-MSTS-ATS REUNION 2008
The 2008
Reunion held on 18 October 2008 at San Leandro Yacht Club turned out
great. We
had a great group of people, many
folks who came for the first time to one of our
reunions, but many regulars who did
not make it due to prior commitments, so please put
the 2009 reunion date on your calendar
now so you do not miss it next year. 2009 Reunion
will be held on Saturday 17 October
2009 at San Leandro Yacht Club.
Tom Grabow, Myself and Lavernne
Thompson maintain our membership and pay dues to San
Leandro Yacht Club each year to allow
us (MSC) the privilege of holding our reunions at
the Yacht Club without having to pay a
rental fee to use the facility, as we would have to
at another location or to have to pay
a very high catering fee, and we do appreciate this
benefit that the Yacht Club affords us.
When you read the "8 Bells Deceased
List" you will notice many new additions this year,
and I know that there are certain to
be many that I have not received. As you hear of our
shipmates, and coworkers who have
passed on please let me know so we can include them. I
plan to start a new list on January 1,
2009 as our list is getting so long that Tom Grabow
has a real challenge to keep it
uptodate on the WEBSITE. www.mscpac.org. We will ask
him to keep the old one on the website
also.Without Tom's help with the data base, spread
sheets and e-mail assistance, Mom's
help with the mailings to the folks who do not have e-
mail I could not have pulled off the
reunion this year.
There were so many comments on how
good the food was this year. With the B'B'Q Gang and
all of the wonderful dishes that
people brought, I can guarantee no one went hungry.
In addition we had a bunch of helpers
this year that made the reunion a success: Ken
Fuchs, Tom Grabow, Ted Hin, Hai Ly,
San Lai, Bernie & Shirley Schultz, Art Lullen, Nan
Cramer, Fran & Bruce Moon, Dena
Snearly, Rene & Gunther Rupchect and Lavernne Thompson.
The generosity of those who have
mailed in donations and those who donate at the reunion
ensure that we have enough money to
cover the food and supplies that we have to purchase,
the postage, ink, paper, envelopes and
miscellaneous costs of the reunion for the past
reunion and the up coming reunion.
Those who mailed in donations since
the last reunion include, George Bruno, Ocie M.
Thompson, Thomas M. Thompson, Harold
W. Grummer(x2), Marie Burnett, Anthony Mills, A.W.
"Mac" McKnight, Jose S. Tagle, William
"Bill" Strain, James Jungles, and Ronald Driggins.
Attendee's and generous donors at the
reunion include, Mary Alexander, Jack Anderson,
Rodney & Janis Berquist, Chuck
Burger, Dina Caliz, Anita Carter, Willa & Robert Cauley,
Chuck Caufield and son David, Barbara
Chapman, Phillip & Nan Cramer, Karl & Nancy

My health has improved somewhat, but I
really need to ask for some people to step up to
the plate and help with the reunions
if you want them to continue.
